After spending the day in New Bern, North Carolina, touring Tryon Palace and larger homes in the historic district, the most pleasant surprise was waiting just around the corner. We were captivated by the sight of the Holly Hock Cottage. The proportions were perfect, the size adorable, the simplicity engaging and the gardens ablaze in irregular charm and color. Feasting out eyes on this little cottage at the end of our stay was an unexpected and heartwarming delight.
