From the street, the Generation looks like a classic one-story home with farmhouse style. However, a closer look at the floor plan reveals that this is two homes in one. Ideal for those looking to build a home for multiple generations, the aptly named Generation, offers a smaller one-bedroom apartment that could optionally have access to the main home. This flexibility allows the home to be tailored for those looking to keep aging parents nearby or the apartment could be rented out. Each side has a private front covered porch so that regardless of how the additional living is used there is privacy. The main home offers an open great room where the kitchen, living room, and dining room are all open to each other. In the living room is a cozy fireplace and off the dining room, a sliding glass door opens the space to the covered porch. The kitchen is well-appointed and offers a generous walk-in pantry along with an island that adds to the available workspace and a built-in eating bar which adds to the available seating. The main floor master suite is tucked away on the right side of the floor plan giving it the feeling of a private retreat. Master suite features include a private bathroom with a separate soaking tub and shower, dual vanities, a walk-in closet, and private access to the covered porch. The attached one-car garage has direct access to the main residence.

What's Included in a Plan Set?
Artist's Rendering: An artist's drawing of the home, usually viewed from the front, and general construction notes.
Elevations: Shows the front, sides, and rear, including exterior materials, trim sizes, roof pitches, etc.
Main Floor Plan: Shows placement and dimensions of walls, doors, & windows. Includes the location of appliances, plumbing fixtures, beams, ceiling heights, etc.
Second Floor Plan (if any): Shows the second floor in the same detail as the main floor. Includes second floor framing and details.
Foundation Plan: Shows the location of all concrete footings, floor beams, first floor framing, and foundation details. If there is a basement, a basement plan is included which shows all basement details.
Floor Framing Plan (if any): Shows location and spacing of floor joists and supporting walls or beams.
Roof Framing Plan: Shows roof outlines, conventional framing/trusses, beams, roof framing details, etc.
Section & Details: Shows a cross-section of the home. Shows support members, exterior and interior materials, insulation, and foundation. Specific details such as fireplaces, stairways, decks, etc. are drawn at 1/2" = 1' scale, and appear as needed throughout the prints.
